About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced content strategist who loves using language and information architecture to bring clarity to complex products. As a Product Content Strategist at Signal Sciences, you’ll collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers to make our product easy to navigate and help our customers get work done. You’ll work strategically to develop our product voice and taxonomy, while also sweating the details to write concise, consistent, and approachable UI content and microcopy.

Things you’ll get to work on include:

  • Evolving our product’s voice & tone and formalizing writing standards
  • Contributing content standards and best practices to Cosmo, our internal design system
  • Planning, writing, and editing interface copy, product documentation, and other content across our products
  • Designing navigation systems and defining information architecture to elegantly manage complexity
  • Helping others to write great product content by offering training, documentation, and editorial guidance

About You

You should have a background working closely with design teams on content strategy for web or mobile applications. Experience working on a security or technical product is a huge plus, but not required. We love working with innately curious people who enjoy learning new domains and understanding complex problems spaces.

The right person for this role will:

  • Have a portfolio of work demonstrating exceptional UI copywriting and a habit of using qualitative and quantitative data to measure impact
  • Have experience writing content style guides and influencing the direction of voice and tone
  • Be adept at collaborating with cross-functional product teams
  • Demonstrate an ability to apply UX and information architecture principles to design navigation systems and product taxonomies
  • Enjoy solving content and copywriting problems on a product made for technical users
  • Embrace a highly iterative design process that is biased toward shipping quickly and fast feedback loops. (we value teammates who are very adaptive and great listeners)

The Details

  • This position is part of the Product Design team
  • This is an individual contributor role (not people management)
  • Located in Los Angeles
  • Suitable for mid- and senior-level content strategists

How to Apply

To apply, please email the following things to careers@signalsciences.com: (1) your resume, preferably in PDF, plaintext or markdown format, (2) a URL to your portfolio or work samples, and (3) a brief cover letter introducing yourself. Bonus points if your cover letter includes one suggestion of how the copywriting of this job description could be improved.
